An Urban Inception – Reality-Distorting Photography by Brad Sloan

Oregon-based photographer Brad Sloan flips your world upside down, sideways, and all around in his series: Mirror Cities, a set of landscape and structural photographs in Manhattan, New York.

Shot in black and white, Brad toys with the idea of flipping the images to portray an intriguing perception of the busy city’s skyscrapers, structures, and landscapes. The images portray a kind of parallel universe, one in which things coincide with the present world we are in. To be frank, it reminds me of Richard Mayhew’s London Below, from Neil Gaiman’s book: Neverwhere.

In any case, it is an intriguing and disturbing perception of the city, and Brad’s photos tests one’s own perception and balance.

Prepare to be floored.

Brad Sloan
